“Divine pivot or an autonomous creator?” Navigating spiritual disillusionment.
I thought I was special until I read my instruction manual — the existential crisis of a spiritual appliance.
I used to engage my channeling process as a form of creative self-therapy. I would start by articulating the pain I was feeling, and then allow that feeling to transform through a broader perspective. I thought sharing one of my favorite transformations from this process might be helpful. Although the text below begins in a dark place, it ultimately concludes with the light of clarity. The source of my pain stemmed from repeatedly encountering situations where people’s spirits would ask me to convey a message to them. Unfortunately, I discovered that these messages frequently targeted their most sensitive emotional issues, which often resulted in negative reactions. As a result, I didn’t feel like a bearer of good news; instead, I felt like a messenger of ‘tough love,’ one who was not only unappreciated but also resented for delivering them.
