The Spiritual Trap of Hierarchy: Why Awakening Is Not Superiority.

Through channeling diverse beings, I have liberated myself from a narrow definition of self. I have directly experienced that I am not only the embodied human that I ‘present’ myself as in the ‘present’ moment. And, through this incredible experience, I know that the same is true for each and every one of us.

To directly experience this realization as your personal truth creates a profound sense of unity, enabling you to experience the interconnectedness of all existence without fear or resistance. This is to enter the state of allowance … the state of unfolding … the flow that underpins all life.
The journey to this understanding hinges on meeting experiences with an open heart — free of fear and judgment. It’s about expanding your definition of self to embrace everything that is. If you approach the world with courage and openness, there is nothing you cannot perceive clearly. This is to see that reality is a mirror.
You are everything you encounter.
This realization completely undermines the spiritual competitiveness within the modern New Age spiritual community … a reimagining of the church in which many teachers and seekers try to elevate themselves above others through the concept of their spiritual credentials.
We all have the same credentials. We are all the one consciousness. Hierarchy is a human tool of control and manipulation.
So, rather than seeking to elevate yourself personally by seeking a definitive spiritual self, seek to recognize our shared collective self … that which encompasses all beings and experiences. In this wide paradigm for perception, individuals are not isolated; they weave together into a rich tapestry of existence, from individual expressions to the grand collective of all life.
This is not just saying that collectively, we are each a brushstroke that makes a beautiful painting; it is saying that the beautiful painting is a being … a level of consciousness … a state of awareness, just as we are … just as valid as we are. It forms us as much as we form it. We are two sides of the same coin. We are one. You are the collective, the collective is you. You are the one in the mini.
You are infinite and eternal, as well as being mortal and temporary.
You can tap into various aspects of this collective identity, whether through feeling and being a part of any group or label that resonates with you … through your state of self-identification, which can be broad or narrow. It can be the coast of your physical body or the knowing that you are the self that is all that is.
The essence of our wider self is an infinite, timeless, multidimensional entity that eludes the grasp of any single name or label.
This does not mean that you do not have a spiritual name but understand that the state of being it refers to — that which stands between your current state of individuality and the breath of source consciousness — has no illusions that it is separate from anything (including every human being on Earth).
My chosen spiritual name, “StorySun,” serves as a bridge, connecting my individual self with the boundless collective. I am that which is Story, and I am that which is the collective … the sun. I started out by channeling my own divinity, which I called SunSon (which includes Seth).
We all birth from the sun, yet we remain the sun.
We are each drops of the ocean, and yet we remain the whole ocean.
My choice of spiritual name symbolizes the realization that we are part of something profoundly larger than ourselves — a vibrant cosmos interconnected in ways we have yet to comprehend. In our mortal lives, we are each a temporary ‘story.’
To fully embrace our state of unity and equality, you must accept that spiritual awakening is not superior to remaining unawakened. Such beliefs create unnecessary hierarchies and judgments that contradict the nature of our spirit / the collective. Spirit transcends notions of good and bad, superiority or inferiority — it embraces each experience as a vital piece of the whole.
See that there is a difference between your passionate desire to awaken spiritually and the belief that others “need” to awaken. The latter fosters fears and a feeling of imperfection, which is an expression of feeling disconnected from your spirit. Instead of framing spiritual awakening as a necessity, consider it an exciting potential for a transformative journey … one fueled by curiosity and openness.
This exploration of your infinite self is a profound dance within — a gentle engagement with the locks and keys of your inner world. So, if you are ready to embark on this transformative voyage and discover the depths of your fluid self, enjoy that journey without judging the rest of the world against it. Only then will you be able to experience it with the freedom that your spirit does.
