Zen & the Art of Not Losing Your Mind Over Politics.
I am a gnostic and I share these words as they resonate with me, but I do not claim to have always fully embodied the concepts outlined. I am still navigating my own version of being a woke bleeding-heart liberal.
To understand the nature of humanity’s political and ideological divisions, you must first see beyond the illusion of separation. The contrast between conservative, traditional Republicans and progressive, ‘woke,’ liberal Democrats is not a battle between right and wrong, good and evil, educated and uneducated, or enlightened and unenlightened. It is the unfolding of consciousness itself — an evolutionary spectrum where every stage is necessary, and every perspective is a reflection of the one universal self.
Our polarized political identities are not static or separate. They are intertwined aspects of a singular consciousness, playing out across time and experience.
States of eternal consciousness that seek to experience a powerful creative edge, birth into the intense individuality of ‘the human experience’ as ‘young souls.’ Over many lifetimes, they move towards collective consciousness / unity and the eventual return to Source as ‘old souls.’
Using this idea, imagine a single being living through the ages, experiencing existence through countless human lives, forming and reforming its beliefs with each cycle of incarnation. Picture humanity as a continuous thread, a linear journey that embodies every experience, every lifetime, as one interconnected flow.
